(flip it and reverse it)
This is a little book i made to show with my portfolio. I came up with the alphabet idea because i thought it would be a good way to trick people into thinking i'm clever. The purpose of this was to really show more vector art that I wasn't able to show in my portfolio. It's a little companion piece. Everyone needs a buddy.
I just printed the pages out myself and got it bound at kinkos so it was really cheap to make. Maybe i'll make more?more pics on my flickr

This is the lovely derby car I'm sending over to threadless for their Threadlemanss derby race. I think this guy will be too heavy and too ride to actually race, but i'm still crossing my fingers!

I made it back to the states all in one structurally sound well built piece (of meat). It feels good to be back home, but i do miss all of my Australian friends/enemies. To Wong Fu Australia, thanks for everything. - Julie Justin White

Until then... here is a very important part of a speech I animated in one of my classes.

zoo animals
I finally scanned in some more of the sketches I made while visiting all my favorite animal friends at the zoo a few months ago. I even got BBQ sauce on my sketch book thanks to a certain old lady someone who happened to be slopping all over her chicken fingers nearby.
I've been to the San Diego zoo a couple times now, but this was my first trip with a sketchbook and pencil materials. I still couldn't find half of the animals I was looking for, so I made do with what little animals punks I could find.

Husband is Soldier
My roommate made a puppet show movie short for the film festival at our school and I'm think ing it's gonna blow all those other pretentious films out of the Deep Blue Sea. (my hat is like a shark's fin)
The actual film department is probably the worst they could ever possibly be at managing to put together a decent poster to advertise the festival. I don't think they were even going to have one this semester until someone threw something together at the last minute. How can they not simply ask one of the million art students to come up with something? Isn't there anyone in the film department that can put pictures and words on to a piece of paper in an attractive order? I'm sure there are, but I guess the head honchos don't know how to find these people and no one wants to step forward. The huge gap separating the film and art department is one of the main reasons i ended up switching my major. Also, all the good looking girls are in art.
My roommate was saying that the poster project somehow trickled down to me. How did that happen?! So i was sort of indirectly asked to come up with something if i had time. I thought about it, but when I realized my roommate's film would be in it I decided to make a poster specifically for his. Who cares about the rest? (nobody) Just go see this one! (ok!)
The other day I was emailed the actual poster for the festival. I think you're supposed to study or do some research before you look at it because it doesn't make any sense if you don't. On the right is the one i made for my roommate.

More noods
Here are a few drawings from class. This is me experimenting with watercolor crayons and how they interact/react/cooperate/get along/fightcrime/and work with water. This is definitely my favorite class this semester and I'm gonna try to take many more life drawing classes when ever I can. The harderst part is working so quickly and under a time limit because these are human beings i'm working with! They live, breathe, eat, drink, play video games, sleep, eat, sing, and move just like you and me. I'm also not really used to drawing on such a big scale so this class has been testing me a lot like the movie Running Man with Arnold S. It's really a big help, and if nothing else i get to just look at naked people. AWKWARD! (or is it?)
these are way too big to fit in my scanner so i'm sorry for the crappy photos... i'm not a robot!

Horse Shit!
Sorry about the language, but it makes a pretty great title, right? Well anyway... here's a sketch that started off as just some doodle nonesense in my notes, but I ended up using it to try out a couple of programs I'm learning to use. Follow along cause this will be fun!
Heeeere weeeee goooooo!
Heeeere weeeee goooooo!

Here's what started out as my weird pencil sketch. I think I had that song stuck in my head. You know the one? "Put me in coach, I'm ready to play... today... hooray" something like that.

This is where I tested out my new illustrator skills. I'm finally learning to use the pen tool and different ways to digitally ink my drawings with illustrator. All thanks to a class I'm taking in school. I guess school is pretty cool... well I'll be a monkey's butt. :/

Oh yeah? Well school didn't teach me Jack DANIELS about this program! This is me trying to learn how to use Corel Painter. It's cool, but it's freaking hard. There's too many brushes slash paints slashes options and for someone who hasn't painted since ever, it's a pretty hard program to make friends with. I'm not done with this one yet, but I just wanted to post it in case I never get around to finishing it. I wish I could take a digital painting class or something. Or at least just hook up to that machine from the matrix that taught Neo kung-fu. ...maybe some day... maybe the one day!
OK peace be with you.

Winter Crush
Everyone's favorite holiday is coming up... my birthday! Oops I mean Christmas! I was working on what I thought was going to be some little dinky animation for the winter snow season, but I think it will probably turn into something else. I was actually inspired to make this by some art work we talked about in my Art History class. I was busy trying to write "Love" and "You" on my eyelids until this piece popped up and I became too distracted to finish.
Here's a quick background i did in corel painter. Someone mentioned those two hills looked like boobs... so that made things awkward.
And here's a few different styles of little munchkin boys I was trying out. Not sure which one is my favorite, but that guy in the bottom left makes me want to hug and punch his face at the same time.

Foots and Feet

Now I have to fill up my sketchbook with feet, hands, and other such gibberish bodyparts. We are supposed to use our own hands as references, but I spoke with the teacher and we both agreed that my hands and feet were far to ugly to be drawn. I'll try and get some of my gesture sketches up here, but they were drawn on big huge sheets of paper, so it might be a bit tricky. The only way I could fit them in my scanner was if I crumpled them up into little balls or folded them into paper airplanes and then flattened them in my scanner bed. I'll figure something out... or will I?
